The mission of The Churchill Society of New Orleans is to spread appreciation of the thoughts, words, and deeds of Winston Spencer Churchill, to foster an outlook on world events that builds on his leadership, his wisdom, his courage, his love of Anglo-American traditions, and his renowned prescience and to enjoy the brilliance of his writings, his speeches and his wit.
Announcements
The Annual Dinner will again be held at the New Orleans Country Club, on the evening of November 30, 2023, the great man’s 149th birthday. The event is open to members and their guests. The Victory Belles will again entertain, and the speaker will be the distinguished World-War-II-Museum historian, Michael Bell, who will lecture on the “special relationship” of the USA and Great Britain. The first Herschel Abbott Award will be presented at the dinner. The cost to attend is $150 per person. Checks should be mailed or hand-delivered to Ms. Ouida Laudumiey, 6048 Coliseum Street, New Orleans, LA 70118, and must be received by her no later than December 27, 2023
2022-2023 High School Essay Contest
The winners of the 2022-2023 contest are as follows:
First Prize ($1,500): Apollo Stafford, Saucier, MS
Second Prize ($500): Carson Collins, Austin, TX
Third Prize ($250) (tie): Anthony Lawler, Metairie, LA and Caleb Haber, Long Beach, MS
