The mission of The Churchill Society of New Orleans is to spread appreciation of the thoughts, words, and deeds of Winston Spencer Churchill, to foster an outlook on world events that builds on his leadership, his wisdom, his courage, his love of Anglo-American traditions, and his renowned prescience and to enjoy the brilliance of his writings, his speeches and his wit.
Upcoming Events:
The Society is providing tickets to our membership to attend a showing of Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale at the Prytania Theatre on September 13th.
Katherine Carter, author of Churchill’s Citadel: Chartwell and the Gatherings Before the Storm, will be our featured speaker at our annual birthday dinner to be held on December 2, 2025 at the New Orleans Country Club. Ms. Carter will also be making presentations at bookstores in New Orleans and Pass Christian on the 3rd and 4th of December, respectively, as well as giving an Orlin Russell Corey Lecture at the National WWII Museum on December 5, 2025.

Because of the quality of the submissions, most of the contestants were also awarded membership in the International Churchill Society as an additional prize, which, among other things, provides the winner and family of the essay contestants chosen, the ability to receive the digital and print versions of Finest Hour, the wonderful publication of the ICS.
